Pemberton and Westampton Tech are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Pemberton Hornets will be playing at home against the Westampton Tech Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Monday, Pemberton lost to Trenton Catholic Academy on the road by a decisive 71-54 margin. While losing is never fun, Pemberton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Trenton Catholic Academy is ranked 76th).
Meanwhile, Westampton Tech's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 50-43 to Willingboro.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Shakur Anderson, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Pemberton dropped their record down to 8-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Westampton Tech, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Pemberton didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Westampton Tech in their previous meeting on January 5th, but they still walked away with a 46-41 victory. Will Pemberton repeat their success, or does Westampton Tech have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
