The Quartz Hill Royals will venture away from home to challenge the Temescal Canyon Titans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Quartz Hill sitting on 12 straight wins and Temescal Canyon on four.
Temescal Canyon's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Quartz Hill hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Royals didn't even let Knight on the board on Thursday, marking the Royals' second-straight 14-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Dakota Ponder tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nina Sepulveda, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emily Cowan, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Quartz Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .444 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Temescal Canyon). They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Tahquitz on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded Temescal Canyon with their most commanding win of the season.
Temescal Canyon also got a great performance from JESSENIA MOORE as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, BREA TILLERY was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. SARAH JUAREZ also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Quartz Hill's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Temescal Canyon, their record is now 11-5.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Quartz Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. However, it's not like Temescal Canyon struggles in that department as they've averaged .393. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
