They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 76-39 victory over Flint River Academy. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-15.
Lafayette Christian was led to victory by Bruno Tellez and Joshua Zapata. Tellez dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Zapata scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Tellez has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Vakiel Hammett, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Flint River Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cale Cartwright. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Cole Riner was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Lafayette Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
