Softball Recap: Fraser Starts Season with Victory Against Seaholm

Fraser had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by a 12-3 margin over the Seaholm Maples. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Ramblers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2021.

Camilla Dawood made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Dawood was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Irelyn Bednarchik was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Peyton Claeys, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fraser will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Utica Eisenhower at 4:00 p.m. on April 1st. As for Seaholm, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Lutheran Northwest at 4:30 p.m. The game will give Seaholm their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
