In what's become a running theme this season, the Fulshear Chargers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 69-35 win over Lamar Consolidated at home. The win was familiar territory for Fulshear who now have four in a row.
Ruke Ogbevire was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sophia Semmler, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Lamar Consolidated lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaylani Nichols. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with five steals. Aubrey Edwards was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Even though they lost, Lamar Consolidated smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. This was only their 17th loss (out of 22 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Fulshear's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Lamar Consolidated, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fulshear will take on Terry at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Terry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1154th, while Fulshear is ranked 113th). As for Lamar Consolidated, they will be playing at home against Fort Bend Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
