The Bradenton Christian Panthers will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Bradenton Christian pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Cardinal Mooney 61-55. It was the first time this season that Bradenton Christian let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Lakewood Ranch's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 54-41 to Parrish Community.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Leo Henderson, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. James Butler was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two blocks.
Bradenton Christian's loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5. As for Lakewood Ranch, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Bradenton Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Lakewood Ranch when the teams last played back in January of 2022, but they still walked away with a 73-69 victory. Will Bradenton Christian repeat their success, or does Lakewood Ranch have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
