Crestwood is 1-9 against the Pirates since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Crestwood Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Southeast Pirates at 11:15 a.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Crestwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 35-27 to Wickliffe.
Despite the defeat, Crestwood saw an underclassman step up: Grace Harper almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Dustman, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-17, which was the final score in Southeast's tilt against the Rovers on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southeast in their matchups with the Rovers: they've now lost four in a row.
Crestwood now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Southeast, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Crestwood beat the Pirates 35-27 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crestwood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
