Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to post seven more assists than your opponent, a fact the Paradise Honors Panthers proved on Monday. They walked away with a 48-38 victory over Peoria. That's two games straight that Paradise Honors has won by exactly ten points.
Morgan Van Dyke continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for she. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Hughens, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cieraka Lynch, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was De?Miyah Petty, who scored seven points.
Peoria struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Paradise Honors and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Peoria, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.
Paradise Honors will head out on the road to face off against McClintock at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully McClintock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six last Thursday. As for Peoria, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coconino at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coconino will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
