The Land O' Lakes Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Pasco Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Wiregrass Ranch scored an imposing 35 points on Friday, Land O' Lakes still came out on top. Land O' Lakes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-35 victory over Wiregrass Ranch. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Land O' Lakes.
Land O' Lakes got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyle Horvath out in front who threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.3 yards per attempt. Land O' Lakes also got a significant boost from Cody Gwinn, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 100 yards.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Pasco over Wesley Chapel in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Pasco blew Wesley Chapel out of the water with a 53-0 final score. Pasco pushed the score to 47-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Wesley Chapel had no chance of recovering from.
Pasco relied on the efforts of Demontia Hudson, who gained 143 total yards and two touchdowns, and Alvaunte Brown, who threw for 172 yards and four touchdowns. Amontiy Hudson was another key contributor, rushing for 98 yards and a touchdown.
Land O' Lakes' win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Pasco, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Land O' Lakes against Pasco in their previous meeting back in October of 2021 as the squad secured a 36-0 win. Does Land O' Lakes have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pasco turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
