The Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils will be staying on the road to face off against the Notre Dame Jugglers at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Vernon-Verona-Sherrill pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 83-57 loss to Holland Patent might stick with them for a while. Even though they lost, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Dylan Donegan, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. Eliijah Donegan was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They suffered a tough 75-50 defeat at the hands of Central Valley Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Notre Dame in their matchups with Central Valley Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Notre Dame, they bumped their record down to 0-1 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Vernon-Verona-Sherrill came up short against Notre Dame when the teams last played back in January, falling 66-54. Can Vernon-Verona-Sherrill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
