The Boynton Beach Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell 48-41 to Boca Raton. Boynton Beach was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Boynton Beach lost, one person who can't be blamed is Marvis Pementer. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points. Mitshev Duquency was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five assists.
Luke Dahmer was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 13 points along with three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Lavar Jamison, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Boynton Beach dropped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Boca Raton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boynton Beach is on the road again on Friday and plays the Bulls at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Boca Raton, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Emmanuel Augustin and Jamison.
