Haskell's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Summit Christian Academy. The result was nothing new for the Haymakers, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Jaxon Drain made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Drain was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Yocham, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Brody Grider was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Haskell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Summit Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .294.
Meanwhile, Hulbert lost 13-1 to Chouteau-Mazie on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Riders have lost by exactly 12 runs.
Haskell's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Hulbert, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Hulbert's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Haskell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .378. It's a different story for Hulbert, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Haskell's hitters?
