The Dixon Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Topsail. Even though they lost, Dixon's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the loss, Dixon still got an impressive performance from Brayden Anderson-Sidbury, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Anderson-Sidbury scored a full 26.2% of Dixon's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jziah Hinton, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Topsail's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jariel Howard, who scored 17 points. Tristin Robles was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Dixon now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Topsail, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 1-2.
Dixon will play host again and welcome Spring Creek, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Dixon likes a good challenge. As for Topsail, they will head out on the road to face off against East Bladen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
