Indian River barely beat Archmere Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Not much got past Landon Fiels, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Archmere Academy off the board. Fiels has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dylan Grise, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Cappo, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Indian River has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Archmere Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.
