Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clairemont). They claimed a resounding 45-13 victory over the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Chieftains considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

A big part of Clairemont's win came down to the chemistry between Abby Mora and her top target Kacey Otterman. Mora threw for 219 yards and four TDs while completing 72.7% of her passes while Otterman picked up 136 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those four passing touchdowns gave Mora a new career-high.

Clairemont didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Alexis Benjamin picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Clairemont pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.2 points on average over those games. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Clairemont will take on Hoover at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they will challenge Del Norte at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Nighthawks' defense has only allowed 11.4 points per game this season, so the Ravens' offense will have their work cut out for them.
