The Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge the Benet Academy Redwings at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Bradley-Bourbonnais' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
Bradley-Bourbonnais lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Coal City, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. Bradley-Bourbonnais put the hurt on Coal City with a sharp 10-0 victory on Tuesday. Fans of the Boilermakers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Lydia Hammond made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single hit, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Bella Pusateri was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Tristin Woods was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Bradley-Bourbonnais kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Benet Academy kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Glenbard North by a score of 3-2. The Redwings haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Sophia Rosner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Angela Horejs made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Bradley-Bourbonnais pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.the team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team won's by an average of 8.8 runs thus far As for Benet Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Bradley-Bourbonnais came out on top in a nail-biter against Benet Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bradley-Bourbonnais since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
