When it comes to explaining why Marshall lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aric Goodman. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Goodman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Josiah Powell, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Madison's win bumped their record up to 22-12. As for Marshall, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-22.
Madison will head out on the road to face off against the Volunteers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marshall, they will square off against the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Johnson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Rams in Texas (the Jaguars are ranked 400th, while the Rams are ranked 839th).
