Hough has gone a perfect 10-0 against Hopewell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Huskies will be playing at home against the Titans at 6:00 p.m. Hough is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Hough came up short against North Lincoln and fell 8-5.
Ashlyn Rogers made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Waldau, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Meanwhile, Hopewell never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past West Mecklenburg 16-0. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Ellie Wicks made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylin Nelson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Kori West was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Hopewell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Hough's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Hopewell, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Hopewell's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Hough has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Hopewell, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 strikeouts. Will Hough keep running through batters, or will the Titans buck the trend?
Hough got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Hopewell by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
