McComb is on a three-game streak of home losses, Wilkinson County a 12-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The McComb Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Wilkinson County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, McComb came up short against Vicksburg and fell 42-35.
Meanwhile, Wilkinson County was beaten by South Pike 62-22 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Wilkinson County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while South Pike is ranked 125th).
McComb's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Wilkinson County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
McComb took their win against Wilkinson County in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 58-33. Will McComb repeat their success, or does Wilkinson County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
