On Friday, Campo Verde took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 49-19 victory over Skyline. The result was nothing new for Campo Verde, who have now won three contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Athan Ferber had a dynamite game for Campo Verde, rushing for 132 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Blackburn, who rushed for 108 yards on only 15 carries.
Several Coyotes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Simcox, who picked up 62 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jordan Blake, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown.
Campo Verde's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Skyline, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Campo Verde will stay at home for another week and welcome McClintock at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. One thing working in McClintock's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Skyline, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gilbert at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Gilbert is ranked 94th, while Skyline is ranked 90th).
