Hirschi was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as it fell 42 - 35 to
Graham.
Hirschi's defense took a beating in the first half, giving up 27 points. That put it down 27 - 14. Even after 21 points in the second half, the team couldn't make up the lost ground.
Despite Hirschi's defeat, the squad still enjoyed a top-notch performance from junior Daimarqua Foster, who ran for 118 yards and also punched in two touchdowns. Mar'tez Vrana was in the mix too, providing Hirschi with two touchdowns.
Graham can chalk up much of its success to the efforts of junior Chase Gilmore, who picked up 123 yards on the ground. This marked the 3rd consecutive game in which Gilmore had 100+ rushing yards. Wes Martin was in the mix too, providing Graham with two touchdowns. In fact, with 18 tackles, Martin was a force on both sides of the ball.
The defeat dropped Hirschi's record to 2-1. Graham kept its perfect season alive and rose to 3-0.
Both Graham and Hirschi will be guarding their home fields in their upcoming games. Graham will face off against Burkburnett Friday at 7:30 PM. Meanwhile, Hirschi will battle it out against Perryton on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
