Randleman has gone 9-1 against Wheatmore recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Randleman Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Wheatmore Warriors at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Randleman has six straight wins, Wheatmore has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Randleman's victory against Montgomery Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Randleman had just enough and edged out Montgomery Central 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since April 24, 2024.
Teanna Bostick was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Phillips, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Wheatmore started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against West Davidson. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons on Wednesday.
Adalyn Boles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Emma Carter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Randleman's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Wheatmore, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Randleman hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Wheatmore struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Randleman's way against Wheatmore in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Randleman made off with a 12-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Randleman since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
