The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Saturday Prairie takes on Edison in the first playoff game of the year. Prairie has been tearing up the end zone with big points in its last four contests.
Prairie can now show off five landslide victories after its game two weeks ago. Everything went its way against North Park two weeks ago as it secured a 52 - 12 win. Senior Trenton Holzworth was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he ran for 200 yards and also punched in two touchdowns). Holzworth has been a consistent playmaker for Prairie as this was the 7th good game in a row from him. Sophomore Patrick Thompson banked an additional two TDs for the team. As for Edison, it got an easy win in its last game as Cripple Creek-Victor forfeited.
Their wins bumped Edison to 5-3 and Prairie to 8-0. We'll find out which team can carry over its success and which team inevitably falls when Edison and Prairie clash.
