The matchup between the Community Baptist Conqueror and the Millers Creek Christian Lions on Friday hardly resembled the 26-16 effort from their previous meeting. Community Baptist fell just short of the Lions by a score of 54-51. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Community Baptist of the 26-16 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Millers Creek Christian had a senior duo take command as KENNEDY MARSH scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals and JADYN COTHREN scored 17 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points MARSH has scored all season. JULIE LAYAOU was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 12 rebounds.
Community Baptist has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Millers Creek Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Triad Baptist Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Millers Creek Christian will head out to face Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Community Baptist will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
