Softball Recap: Justin Garza Extends Winning Streak to Three

Justin Garza won the last time they faced Golden Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Guardians never let the Cougars get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The Guardians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Justin Garza let Harmony Cook and Riley Nason run wild. Cook went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Nason went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of JorJa Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Justin Garza always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden Valley only posted an OBP of .188.

The win (which was Justin Garza's third in a row) raised their record to 15-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Golden Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11.

Justin Garza has already played their next game, a 5-1 loss against Rio Linda on the 15th. As for Golden Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-0 defeat against Merced on the 16th.
