The St. Joseph Fighting Irish's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Riverside, falling 72-34. St. Joseph was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Riverside apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Riverside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Otis Williams led the charge by scoring 14 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals. BJ Amos was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
St. Joseph has fallen quite a ways from their 18-5 record last season and are now at 0-3. As for Riverside, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will challenge Delta Streets Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverside's road trip will continue as they head out to face South Delta at 8:30 p.m. on December 12th. One thing working in South Delta's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
