South Bend had a rough outing against Mossyrock last week, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. South Bend had enough points to win and then some against Winlock on Friday, taking their contest 32-14. That result is just more of the same for South Bend, who also won the last time these teams played.
No one put up better numbers for South Bend than senior Drew Rose, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 171 yards on the ground and accumulated 201 passing yards. In fact, with 14 tackles Rose was a force on both sides of the ball. Junior Chase Flynn was in the mix, too, providing South Bend with 2 touchdowns. The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 1-1.
Next week South Bend take on Ocosta at 7:00 PM. Winlock will be staying on the road, facing off against Life Christian Academy.
