On Friday, Saugus was the victim of a tough 39-13 loss at the hands of Castaic. Saugus was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.
Leading Castaic to victory were Anthony Vernon and Tristan Arriaga. Vernon threw for 200 yards and four touchdowns, while Arriaga picked up 96 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Saugus has traveled a rocky road this season, as they've lost eight of their first nine matchups, which gives them a 1-8 record this season. As for Castaic, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saugus will take on Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Castaic, they will head out on the road to face off against West Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
