Lathrop is 7-1 against Los Banos since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lathrop Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Los Banos Tigers at 7:15 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Lathrop suffered their biggest loss since December 11, 2023 on Wednesday. Their rough 64-40 defeat to Mountain House might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Lathrop can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1010th, while Mountain House is ranked 185th).
Meanwhile, Los Banos pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-58 to Ceres.
Lathrop has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Los Banos, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Lathrop skirted past Los Banos 59-56 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Lathrop repeat their success, or does Los Banos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
