Freeburg won the last time they faced Collinsville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Midgets had just enough and edged out the Kahoks 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Midgets have posted since April 22nd.

John Higgins and Cole Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Higgins went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base, while Miller went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Miller has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Rauckman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Freeburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Freeburg's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Collinsville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-14 record.

Coming up, Freeburg will host Roxana at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Shells' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Midgets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Collinsville, they will head out on the road to face off against Alton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
