Towner-Granville-Upham extended the longest winning streak in 9-Man Region 3 (9 Man) this week by beating Benson County [Leeds/Maddock], 47-18. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
North Star/Starkweather took down Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jacob Hagler threw for 270 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 17 yards in the win.
Daniel Grande was the best wideout in the league this week as the Bearcats beat the Honkers. Grande tallied six receptions for 179 yards. Christian Kvilvang helped North Star/Starkweather's passing attack out by catching three balls for 59 yards.
Kiefer Langan was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 75 yards as St. John topped Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central. Teammate Joe Mickelson added to the ground attack by rushing for 24 yards.
Bryan Haugen's team's Hagler and Grande have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 9-Man Region 3 (9 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Hagler has thrown for 1453 yards this season, while Grande, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 32 catches for 617 yards. Four Winds/Warwick's Leonard Richotte leads the league in rushing yards with 508.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Bearcats and Towner-Granville-Upham. North Star/Starkweather enters the game ranked fifth in the state, while Scott Thorson's team ranks 10th.
