Lancaster is 0-7 against York since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lancaster Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the York Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Lancaster is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Lancaster gave up the first points last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 20-13 victory over Catawba Ridge.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, York's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were dealt a 56-14 loss at the hands of Northwestern. While losing is never fun, York can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Northwestern is ranked first).
Lancaster's victory lifted them to 1-7 while York's loss dropped them down to 6-2.
Lancaster couldn't quite finish off York when the teams last played back in October of 2022 and fell 28-26. Can Lancaster avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
