Mendez is a perfect 7-0 against Roybal since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Mendez will venture away from home to face off against Roybal at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Mendez's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.

It was a proper cat-fight when Mendez faced off against Robert F. Kennedy Community on Monday. Mendez put the hurt on Robert F. Kennedy Community with a sharp 18-3 victory. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Jaguars this season.

The team relied heavily on Luna Rubio, who fired off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriela Sandoval, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Mendez was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .739. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Roybal came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Cobras.

Roybal pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Mendez, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Mendez took their win against Roybal when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 20-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mendez since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
