The Buena Vista Demons will head out on the road to face off against the Meeker Cowboys at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Buena Vista is ranked 86th, while Meeker is ranked 72nd).
With a playoff game on the line, Buena Vista rose to the challenge on Friday. They managed a 27-21 win over Colorado Springs Christian. The win made it back-to-back wins for Buena Vista.
Tray Cardwell had a dynamite game for Buena Vista, rushing for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Eli Schuknecht and his 89 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Buena Vista's victory.
Meanwhile, Meeker earned a 20-7 victory over Highland on Saturday. The victory was just what Meeker needed coming off of a 41-6 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meeker can attribute much of their success to Clay Crawford, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Buena Vista to 7-3 and Meeker to 6-3.
Buena Vista took a serious blow against Meeker in their previous meeting back in October, falling 42-14. Can Buena Vista avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
