The Woodmore Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Calvert Senecas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvert took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Woodmore, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Woodmore didn't have too much trouble with St. Mary Central Catholic at home as they won 35-21. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Woodmore has scored all year.
Meanwhile, Calvert ended up a good deal behind Lakota on Tuesday and lost 51-35. Calvert has struggled against Lakota recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Alyssa Rishty, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. She scored a full 40% of Calvert's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Rombach, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Woodmore is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Calvert, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-4.
