Having just played yesterday, the St. Henry Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Van Wert Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on February 10th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
St. Henry unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 74-41 defeat at the hands of St. John's. St. Henry was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-13.
St. Henry might have lost, but man, Evan Bowers was a machine: he scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Bowers hasn't dropped below 15 points for ten straight games. Caden Bergman was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Van Wert's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight defeat. They fell to Kenton 65-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
St. Henry's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4. As for Van Wert, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
St. Henry might still be hurting after the 72-52 defeat they got from Van Wert in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can St. Henry avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
