Basketball Recap: Hansberry Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Hansberry had won two straight home games and Miyay Jordan did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Hansberry Bengals managed a 36-32 victory over the Horizon Science Academy-Southwest Huskies thanks in part to Jordan, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and 12 steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, Horizon Science Academy-Southwest still got an impressive performance from Aislin Vazquez, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Vazquez has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsy Bailey, who had six points and three steals.

Hansberry is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.5 points per game. As for Horizon Science Academy-Southwest, they moved to 13-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Hansberry will challenge Thornridge at 6:30 p.m. on February 5th. Horizon Science Academy-Southwest has already played their next match, a 50-13 win against Gage Park on the 29th.
