The Idaho City Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 56-42 fall against Vision. Idaho City was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Vision apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Idaho City still got an impressive performance from Makayla Barber, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kaya Brown, who scored 11 points.
Idaho City struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Vision posted ten assists.
Leading Vision to victory were Angel Gutierrez and Raelynn Nickel. Gutierrez scored 12 points along with eight steals and five rebounds, while Nickel dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 steals. Nickel is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Shaely Vollmer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Idaho City has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Vision, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Rimrock the next time they take the court. Vision will head out to face Rimrock at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Idaho City will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
