Clewiston and Sebring are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Clewiston Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Sebring Blue Streaks at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Sebring took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Clewiston, who comes in off a win.
Even though Clewiston has not done well against Avon Park recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Clewiston was the clear victor by a 54-34 margin over Avon Park.
Clewiston's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Milan Holomes, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abria Askew, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sebring suffered a tough 52-27 loss at the hands of Lake Wales on Thursday.
Despite the loss, Sebring saw an underclassman step up: Molly Jane Zwayer dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Zwayer's third in a row with at least ten points.
The losses dropped Clewiston to 1-1 and Avon Park to 0-2.
Clewiston took a serious blow against Sebring in their previous matchup back in January, falling 62-22. Can Clewiston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
