The Lansing Catholic Cougars stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 62-31 win over Charlotte at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-11.
When it comes to explaining why Charlotte lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaelyn Baker. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 61.3% of Charlotte's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kayle Pugh was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Lansing Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Charlotte, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
