Baseball Recap: Chaminade Has No Trouble Against St. Edmund Prep

Chaminade got themselves on the board against St. Edmund Prep on Friday, but St. Edmund Prep never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Eagles. The match marked the Flyers' most dominant win of the season.

Luke Bartolo looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Chaminade got a massive performance out of Danny Anicito, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Anicito hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of TJ Bradford, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Chaminade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Chaminade is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Edmund Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chaminade will head out to take on Archbishop Molloy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Stanners' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Flyers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Edmund Prep, they will square off against Kellenberg Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
