Jimmie Burk Turns in Season-Best Effort
Redwood was led to victory by Jimmie Burk, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Burk rushed for 236 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and a touchdown. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (111.7). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
Burk might have his next game, a home matchup with Monache, circled on his calendar. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Burk saw the Marauders), he rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.

Najera Came Up Big in Golden West's 48-0 Win
Jayden Najera posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns while completing 95% of his passes, and also rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Golden West, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Najera and Golden West will be playing at home against Porterville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Case Anders' Big Game Leads Golden West over Mt. Whitney
Golden West picked up their fifth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Case Anders. Anders was dynamite, rushing for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
On the year, Anders has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 84 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one rushing touchdown.

Monache Wins Fifth-Straight Thanks to Ty Baxter
Monache picked up their fifth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Ty Baxter. Nobody could stop Baxter as he rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Unfortunately for El Diamante, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Baxter. Baxter rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Miners duked it out back in October of 2023.

Shimer Posts Huge Game in 37-0 Victory
D.J. Shimer's big game helped extend Monache's winning streak to five on Friday. Shimer did his part (and then some), rushing for 75 yards and two touchdowns for the 'W'.
For the year, Shimer has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 95 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 6.5 rushing yards per game.
