The Meadows School Mustangs will square off against the Boulder City Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with The Meadows School sitting on four straight wins and Boulder City on three.
The Meadows School is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Virgin Valley by a score of 10-7. The Meadows School's victory was all the more impressive since the Bulldogs were averaging only 3.71 runs allowed on the season.

James Nelson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Connor McGill was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Aiden Robertson was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Boulder City never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Moapa Valley.
Like The Meadows School, Boulder City also got a great game from a two-way player: Gavin Robinson. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Robinson has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
Robinson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Steven Uszynski, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Boulder City's victory bumped their record up to 19-12. As for The Meadows School, their win bumped their record up to an identical 19-12.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. The Meadows School hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Boulder City struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
