The Glen Iris Baptist Swordsmen fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Chilton Christian Academy Patriots on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to the Patriots. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Chilton Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Calloway, who scored 25 points along with 7 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Calloway has scored at least 25% of Chilton Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Milly Avery, who scored 8 points along with 19 rebounds and 3 steals.
Glen Iris Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Chilton Christian Academy, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glen Iris Baptist will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Victory Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. As for Chilton Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marshall Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
