The South Jones Braves were the 49-38 winner over the Quitman Panthers when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. South Jones was dealt a 53-24 loss at the hands of Quitman on Monday. South Jones was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-9.
Leading Quitman to victory were KIARRA THOMPSON and AUDRIANA HARRIS. THOMPSON scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 blocks, while HARRIS dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which THOMPSON has scored at least 25% of Quitman's points. Another player making a difference was AALIYAH NIXON, who scored 7 points along with 6 assists.
South Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Quitman, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Jones will face off against Quitman at 6:00 p.m. on November 28th. Hopefully Quitman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday. As for they, they will head out on the road to face off against Taylorsville at 2:00 p.m.
