The Wiggins Tigers lost against the Akron Rams back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Wiggins was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Akron.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caden Green, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Adams, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Caleb Poss had an outrageously good game for Akron as he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Poss has scored all season. Anderson Filla was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Wiggins' loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Akron, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wiggins will take on Holyoke at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wiggins focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Akron, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hi-Plains at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Hi-Plains focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Saturday.
