Baseball Recap: Simsboro Gets the Win

Simsboro got themselves on the board against Rayville on Friday, but Rayville never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 13-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2025.

David Cedotal looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Chris Harrell and Noah Thomas did most of the damage at the plate: Harrell went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Thomas went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits Thomas has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Gipson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Simsboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Simsboro's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Rayville, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Simsboro will head out on the road to square off against Haynesville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rayville, they will be playing at home against Delta Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
