Cape Fear Christian Academy had to settle for second on Thursday, but Glenna Mclamb sure wasn't going down easily. Mclamb wasn't messing around, striking out seven batters over 7.2 innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. The pitching appearance was her fourth straight with seven or more strikeouts.

Looking ahead, Mclamb and Cape Fear Christian Academy will square off against Lee Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Falcons thanks in part to Mclamb: she fired off two home runs, five runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4.
