The Lehigh Lightning posted their biggest win since December 11, 2023 on Friday. They breezed by Dunbar at home to the tune of 52-15. Given Lehigh's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Dunbar is ranked 615th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Dunbar saw an underclassman step up: Daniya Maycock scored ten points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maycock has scored all season. Carmen Johnson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two blocks.
Lehigh's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Dunbar, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lehigh will take on Mariner at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dunbar, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Golden Gate at 7:00 p.m.
