On Thursday, in a tight match that could have gone either way, West Mesa made off with a 40-39 win over Lovington. The win made it back-to-back wins for West Mesa.
West Mesa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marissa De hoyos, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marsai Martinez, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
West Mesa's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lovington, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
West Mesa will face off against Manzano at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Manzano focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday. Lovington won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Belen at 4:00 p.m. on December 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Belen is ranked sixth, while Lovington is ranked seventh).
